BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO CREATE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE
Christmas was splendid fun! My sister’s flight into London was delayed and planned to arrive only on Boxing day so I was a little more involved with the ‘Santa was here!’ procedure for my nephew. He is 8 years old so it was probably my last chance to enjoy it, get seriously involved, and maybe learn a few tips on what to do when I myself become a parent. Boy did I get involved! Santa left a long letter for my nephew, a huge stocking and wee little presents for him to enjoy. He and Rudolph left such a mess before they left though!
They did not even tidy up after themselves(!) I could not sleep on Christmas Eve due to excitement of seeing my nephews eyes light up. I will miss these special moments when he is suddenly all grown up, bearded, voice-broken; confirming my old age every time I see him! Sigh!
Anyhoo, another highlight over the holidays was the madness that is Boxing Days Shopping. Joy!
I hoarded TopShop and Miss Selfridge for some winter looks and spent a little too long in Boots making sure I have enough cosmetics to last me the season. In case you wonder – yes we have wonderful shops in Switzerland but shopping is always fun elsewhere, and for me, it’s especially fun at home. Additionally my adoration continues to strengthen for the fierce seasonal collections these stores offer at decent prices. I thought I would share a couple my favorite buys in case for anyone who wishes to catch any good buys over the winter sales.
First up is a wonderful Black and White Star jumper from Primark. I wore it very recently with my dark blue denim short shorts, thick black tights and ankle boots. I also found a few cute chiffon tops for to be worn both in winter and spring. They can also be worn with almost anything on many different occasions. An additional special buy is the fabulous studded jacket from TopShop which I already mentioned in my weekly fashionable sparkles. I purchased a faux leather version as I do not think it is a timeless piece but otherwise, it’s fabulous and it fits well!
I also picked up tweed blazer with patched elbows from Zara to add and bit of spark to my work outfits.
Lastly, Boots had their classic 3 for 2 offers so I stocked up on some luscious Burt’s Bees body washes. I am new to Burt’s Bees and purchased the washes because of the scent and the natural ingredients. Burt’s Bees are committed to using natural products and stress their social and environmental responsibility. I have read great reviews but have never tried their body washes so I am looking forward to trying them out!
