BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO CREATE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE
Fashionable sparkles is finally back after a month of work-related training and neglecting my fashion magazines and blogs. The ACM (Academy of Country Music) awards took place in the U.S. over the past weekend and in my opinion Taylor Swift’s stunning and intricate grey and gold metallic D&G gown stole the show. I adore the beading details on the dress, namely that jeweled collar. The style of the gown remains classic and elegant, whilst the her ponytail and bangs keeps her looking chic and current. She kept the jewelry to a minimum; only wearing a subtle pair of jeweled earrings and her nude make-up finalised the perfect look. The dress does not need to be accessorized any further (as Coco Chanel said, “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory”) and those cute open-toe shoes are the perfect icing on the cake.
Next up is the lovely Kaley Cuoco. Okay so I admit that I had no idea who she was until I started watching The Big Bang Theory about a month ago. We are addicted, already in the middle of watching Season Four because that is just how bloomin’ brilliant, clever and hilarious it is. Here she is wearing a stunning black and nude futuristic and geometric style BCBG gown.
She accessorized with angle themed jewelry and a back and gold envelope clutch. The smokey-eye make-up topped off by that platinum blonde poof creates a unique, gorgeous look with a futuristic touch.
Last but not least, I was delighted to be reminded of Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer collection for 2013 whilst perusing the Vogue.co.uk website. They have launched a beautiful line with significant styles and influences from the 60’s and 70’s bohemian era. While the collection might not necessarily mirror past boho accents in magnitude, it has hippie, ‘Summer of Love’ style infusions including everything from beautiful floppy hats, floral prints and flowy maxi dresses whilst also having a luxurious modern touch fitting spring 2013. Great fashion with a twist of hippie – lovely! I look forward to the style trending available in high-street stores soon!
